Проводимый на STEREO.org.ua с 15 марта эксперимент показывает устойчивое преимущество англоязычного контента перед русским при прочих равных.

Так, за апрель у статей на английском языке отмечено по сравнению с русскими:

• 87% превосходство в Page CTR
• 128% превосходство в Page eCPM
• 110% превосходство в Earnings
• всё это при количестве просмотров всего на 8% меньшем.

Google AdSense targets ads by content of web pages from which the ads are served.

Sometimes pages get out of control, exposing irrelevant content for Google bots to analyze for ads selection. It may be an inappropriate comment by a site’s visitor or, a navigation menu item Google happened to adore. Suddenly you start noticing CTR going down (or watch it low from the beginning).

After a week of non-writing at STEREO website statistics showed Google search’s contribution for traffic diminished somewhat noticeably - by as much as 20% (approx).

This was deduced from observing the proportions of contributions from two of the top 3 search engines topical for STEREO - Google, Windows Live and Yandex.

Yandex is new here, yet it is perceived as important traffic supplier having provided 1/4 of the Google’s traffic during previous two months. This week the distance between the two was shrinking.

BTW “Add to bookmarks” figure in AWstats felt a bit too: from the whopping 36.6% in the beginning of the month to 34% for the 24 days of November. So you rather have a good reason to suspend writing like this.

Small wonder the traffic in general continued to grow as usual, 1% a day on average - this is the momentum at work.

Blogging is a hot topic today. Long past the times when people boasted, “I’ve got a website”, now it’s “I’ve got a weblog“. Blogs are brisk and lively, unlike traditional websites they keep the audience tuned and entertained.

Now, Christian churches have long been like this. (Here comes the question of who’s original, but that’s another story.)

Traffic growth for www.STEREO.org.ua looks promising now:

Especially so in the light of STEREO.org.ua having been largely neglected until late July 2007 since the last record was published in January. No wonder traffic plummeted then.

For an application like Life Balance trial period shouldn’t be that short. That was surely the chief discouragement for me when I first tried it last year. I just didn’t feel serious enough entering my tasks into the Outline to see how it works.

So my take is: either you have to get a highly compelling recommendation from someone trusted to make a purchase right away or, Llamagraphics should describe in detail on how to retain your valuable data between multiple trial installs/deinstalls.

Плагиат - одна из штуковин, которыми про-блоггеры пугают начинающих веб-журналистов.

Признаться, было неприятно, попав на страничку, увидеть в самом верху, в качестве основной темы, мой собственный текст (пост о телефонном коде Украины), воспроизведённый точь-в-точь.

Из распространённых рекомендаций мне нравятся две:

• Читать свои многочисленные RSS-подписки и публиковать в блоге “переваренную” информацию, с добалением какого-то нового поворота.
  Так появился пост о разлочке iPhone - горячая новость, привлёкшая на сайт качественный (хотя и небольшой) трафик - посетители смотрели большее среднего количество страниц.
• Выбраться в “офф-лайн”, чтобы потом написать о реальной жизни, которой в интернет не видно.

А некоторые из моих постов в последнее время являются прямыми или косвенными ответами на почтовые сообщения - если я вижу, что мой ответ может быть интересен больше, чем только участникам личной переписки, я пишу этот ответ в блог и в ответном письме указываю ссылку.
