Кризис закончился. Гугл Адсенс снова платит более доллара за клик. Сегодня за один клик на русской страничке дали 52 цента.
А вчера за 1 клик на англ. - $1.62, абсолютный рекорд STEREO.org.ua.

Watching AdSense rewards commonly going under 1¢ per click in the last quarter was really dismal. I was seriously considering dropping ads from my sites – at least the pages would be a bit cleaner during economic turmoil.
But looks like it was a standard new-year down-season.
Just checked Today/Yesterdays reports in my Google AdSense and – wow! new record for STEREO.org.ua – a click worth $1.62 on an English-language page was registered yesterday.
Today, in the middle of Saturday, – another nice catch: $0.52 for a click on a Russian-language page.
Average PPC for the last half-year @STEREO.org.ua was: 11.0¢/click for English content, 7.3¢/click for Russian content.
There are lots of clicks at 1¢-2¢ ea still. But I guess I’d give AdSense some more time to rehabilitate.

When Citigroup lost 2/3 of its value last week (25% and 30% down in Thursday and Friday alone), I thought my AdSense check, payable at Citibank Germany, was one of the last from "the group".
The $20bn US government help and 60% surge for Citigroup shares on Monday made me believe again that the check is "payable" indeed (It's being processed by a local bank for encashment since Nov 14).

Пришёл чек за рекламу Адсенс, $107.29. Радоваться бы нужно, но на чеке написано “Оплачивает Ситибанк”. А это сейчас примерно как “Сбербанк” времён развала Союза. Даже название похожее.

Google AdSense has finally brought in $100 for couple of websites (incl. this one) participating in the program since the year's start. Most of the revenue came in during the last month or two, likely due to ad-space restructuring: removing AdSense for Search and reducing clutter a bit.
$100 is a minimum paid by Google via cheque.

Пришло время Гуглу выплатить мою первую зарплату: чек высылается после набора $100 за публикацию рекламы. Сегодня счётчик показал $100.25.
Довольно долго доход держался на уровне менее $10/месяц, основные деньги пошли в августе-сентябре.

Advertising experiment held at www.STEREO.org.ua persistently shows double the advantage for English when compared to blogging in Russian.
Everything is virtually twice more effective in English: CTR, CPM, earnings. The only pale thing is CPC with its modest 25% improvement to Russian.

Проводимый на STEREO.org.ua с 15 марта эксперимент показывает устойчивое преимущество англоязычного контента перед русским при прочих равных.
Так, за апрель у статей на английском языке отмечено по сравнению с русскими:
- 87% превосходство в Page CTR
- 128% превосходство в Page eCPM
- 110% превосходство в Earnings
- всё это при количестве просмотров всего на 8% меньшем.

На прошлой неделе ужесточил рекламную политику на STEREO: перенёс блок на самое видное место, под заголовок статьи. При этом продолжал почти полное бездействие в смысле создания контента.
Статистика показала – ускорился рост добавления STEREO в “Избранное” (”Закладки”) посетителями сайта: за последнюю неделю показатель примерно на 20% выше, чем за предыдущую.
Просто совпадение или таки реклама нравится?

Google AdSense targets ads by content of web pages from which the ads are served.
Sometimes pages get out of control, exposing irrelevant content for Google bots to analyze for ads selection. It may be an inappropriate comment by a site’s visitor or, a navigation menu item Google happened to adore. Suddenly you start noticing CTR going down (or watch it low from the beginning).

Спустя 42 дня после вступления в систему рекламного брокера Google AdSense, на счету накопилось вознаграждение за размещение рекламы на нескольких сайтах в размере $10.02.
Это довольно быстро – первая круглая сумма – $1.00 – потребовала 10 дней.

Первый итог, первый доллар… Прошло 10 дней как был открыт эккаунт AdSense и вот сегодняшний отчёт Гугла: 3162 показа, [censored] кликов, Page CTR 0.[censored]%, eCPM (фактическая стоимость тысячи показов) $0.32, Total earnings $1.00.
Если бы не круглая цифра, я бы и не написал об этом. Многие считают оскорбительным предоставлять тысячу импрессий за несколько центов. А мне интересно понаблюдать, так что пока убирать рекламу не буду.
